Energize IT – Winnipeg Dates

Back in February, the Microsoft Canada IT Pro Team blogged about the upcoming Energize IT 2009 tour and dates, following the release of the February TechNet Flash Newsletter.  The blogosphere and the twitterverse has been abuzz with activities as IT folk like you have been registering to attend nation-wide, including Winnipeg!

Numbers are looking very positive so far, and there are some venues that have hit capacity and are now running on waitlists.  We’re not at that point (yet) in Winnipeg, but the registrations are starting to hit our target attendance numbers.  If you are planning to come out in April for Energize IT 2009 in Winnipeg, don’t hesitate, do it now!  The event is only a month away!

I’ve had the privilege to attend Energize IT a couple of years ago in Toronto – it was a great experience, and if there wasn’t a Canadian tour this year, I’m certain that I would be attending again.  The dynamics will be different with this being a local event, however it will be your best opportunity to see the products that are coming from Microsoft in the near term – products that will have an impact on your work and what you can get excited about today!

All of the nation-wide event information can be found by pointing a browser at www.energizeIT.ca

  • User Group Connection: Future of the Platform.  Register
  • Energize IT: From the Client to the Cloud.  Register
  • Install Fest for Windows 7.  Register

Note the dates for the above – April 14, 15, 16, respectively.

See you there!

Winnipeg Security Bootcamp - Post-Event Resources

Thanks to everyone who came out for The Energize IT Bootcamp (Winnipeg) event - for the record-books, there were 65 local IT Pros who attended this session on May 21, 2008!  If you weren't able to attend, you missed out on a great session (plus some great giveaways!).

The Winnipeg stop on the TechNet Canada Security Bootcamp tour was one of the first to fill up entirely, but we didn't turn anyone away at the door!  We made some logistical adjustments and we extended our registration numbers so that more of you could attend, and that paid off for our attendees.  When we had finished handing out the last MS Press book and free exam voucher, there were only a couple of leftovers.

note: if you attended and received a 2008 track book and want a 2003 track title, drop me a line and I'll arrange to get you an alternate book, as I've got a couple of 2003 texts on hold.

Follow-up resources for the event:

From everyone in Winnipeg who attended, sincere thanks to Kirk and Kai, who each gave up personal time to travel across Canada on this tour, and a round of applause to the Canadian IT Pro team at Microsoft Canada for making the tour happen!

We are happy to receive your feedback on this event - feel free to put your comments into this web form to get your feedback to our group, or send us an email.   Thanks for attending, and we'll see you at our June event!

Security Bootcamp!
Well the Security Bootcamp stop in Winnipeg has proven to be very popular among IT Pros in the area.  We booked up in less than a day, with a hundred registered attendees.

I'm looking into larger facilities to see if we can relocate and move to a room with a bigger capacity so we can afford those who missed the TechNet Flash newsletter the chance to get in on this action!  hint!  if you don't receive the Flash, follow that link to register for the TechNet newsletters!

Stay tuned for an update on the Bootcamp stop!
